About

Hi! I’m Victoria (she/her), and I made this blog to share my writing. On here, you can expect to find essays about Portland and Oregon politics from a trans, Marxist perspective. Maybe essays is too fancy of a word. Either way, I’m still in the process of figuring out how exactly I want to use this space, so stay tuned.

I took the name In Our Hands from a verse of “Solidarity Forever,” the anthem of the American labor movement:

In our hands is placed a power greater than their hoarded gold,
Greater than the might of armies, magnified a thousand-fold.
We can bring to birth a new world from the ashes of the old
For the union makes us strong.

That verse should give you a sense of what I believe in. Now if I can stop humming the tune of “Solidarity,” I’ll try to work on some writing.
