This was supposed to be a blog “about Portland and Oregon politics from a trans, Marxist perspective.” Behind the blog, though, is Victoria (she/her), who is indeed a trans woman and a Marxist, but who also has a life of her own and writes about whatever catches her interest. No matter what I’m writing about, I try to make my blog posts compelling, authentic, and passionate.
I took the name In Our Hands from a verse of “Solidarity Forever,” the anthem of the American labor movement:
In our hands is placed a power greater than their hoarded gold,
Greater than the might of armies, magnified a thousand-fold.
We can bring to birth a new world from the ashes of the old
For the union makes us strong.
